Reading for Thursday, January 14th
“Mortals make elaborate plans, but God has the last word. Humans are satisfied with whatever looks good; God probes for what is good. Put God in charge of your work, then what you’ve planned will take place…when God approves of your life, even your enemies will end up shaking your hand. Far better to be right and poor than to be wrong and rich. We plan the way we want to live, but only God makes us able to live it.” Proverbs 16:1-3,7-9
Humans are satisfied with whatever looks good. God probes for what IS good. Wow, needed a reminder of that today. Sat in a meeting where I had no explanation to comfort someone who was suffering. Remembered back to a time that I felt the same way. Confused by God’s “goodness.” But with the perspective of time; it’s worked out.
When God approves of your life, even your enemies will end up shaking your hand. Amazing! God, help me and my fellow LHWC’ers never to forget to keep our eyes on your and living right and leave the rest to you!
